The Courses

Newquay Golf Club Cornwall

First opened in 1890 and overlooking the infamous Fistral Beach, home to the world surfing championships, this 6000 yard Newquay Golf Course provides a great challenge.

The greens are in good condition all year with springy sandy based turf on most holes keeping them mud free in the worst conditions. It has over 100 bunkers and when the wind blows is a real challenge.

Perranporth Golf Club Cornwall

10 minutes drive from the Hotel Victoria, Perranporth Golf Course offers lovely coastal views and offers six par 3 holes. It is completely different to Newquay, with lots of high sand hills and a few blind drives. Designed by James Braid in 1972, the greens are usually fast and in excellent condition.

Treloy Golf Course Cornwall

Five minutes from the hotel on the A3059 Newquay to St Columb Major road, Treloy is a 9 hole par 32 course and is open from 8am til dusk. The sculptured greens use American Penncross bent grass which gives a true and fast putting surface. Other facilities include a licensed bar, coffee shop, golf shop, showers and changing rooms.

Lanhydrock Golf Club Bodmin Cornwall

Lanhydrock Golf Course, Bodmin, is located 30 mins by car from the hotel and one mile south of Bodmin on the B3268, close to Lanhydrock House. Designed by Hamilton Stutt, the course presents an enjoyable challenge to all levels of golfers.

Lanhydrock is a 18 hole par 71 parkland course, with Cornish hedges and tree lined fairways. Its discreet use of water and bunkers provide an enjoyable and exciting challenge. Other facilities include a club house, tuition by PGA professionals, golf shop, sun lounge and patio.

St Mellion International Golf & Country Club, Saltash, Cornwall

Although St Mellion Golf Course is about an hour by car on the A38 towards Plymouth, it is well worth the drive. St Mellion is the home of the first Jack Nicklaus Course designed in Great Britain. In its short history it has held prestigious events such as the Benson & Hedges International Open. St Mellion is also home to the Old Course.

The Nicklaus is a superb and challenging course at 6,626 yards. It is suitable for lower and middle handicappers. The fairways are lined with trees and there are streams and water on several holes. The Old Course is also excellent, but 700 yards shorter.

Other facilities include a club house and full leisure facilities, including indoor pool.
